Add besan and fry until brown in color or it starts leaving some ghee and a nice aroma of besan at low to medium flame.
(It will take approximately 10-12 minutes.)
Mix water and milk in another bowl and add this to besan.
Mix well for no lumps and keep cooking it on high to medium flame while keeping it stirring until it starts boiling.
(It takes approximately 10 minutes.)
When it starts boiling and starts leaving sides, add sugar and mix well.
Cook for another 2-3 minutes and switch off the gas.
Take it our in serving bowls, top with some chopped nuts and serve immediately.
Recipe Notes
Fry the besan in ghee until brown in color, have patience as it take some time and keep it stirring otherwise it may burn.
After adding milk mix it well and keep it stirring otherwise it will be lumpy.
Adjust sugar as per your taste.
You may also add chopped nuts with sugar.
You may also add cardamom powder, black pepper or clove to halwa.
You should avoid nuts if you want to get relief from cold and cough.
