Instructions
  1. Take softened butter in a deep big bowl and beat with the paddle attachment on high speed till smooth.
  2. Gradually add icing sugar (1 cup at a time) and turn your mixer on the lowest speed (so the sugar does not blow everywhere) until the sugar has been incorporated with the butter.
  3. Now add vanilla essence and increase mixer speed to high and beat for further 2-3 minutes or untill fluffy.
  4. At this time check the consistency, it should be soft and spreadable. If you find it hard and dry, gradually add few drops of milk and beat again until soft and smooth. If you find it very soft add some more icing sugar to adjust the spreadable consistency.
  5. Now add required food color and beat again on high for few seconds. Cover and refrigerate for 10-15 minutes before using it. (You may store this in fridge for months in an airtight container.)
  6. Pipe in with your choice of nozzle and decorate your own cake in your very own style!
Recipe Notes
  • Butter should be at room temperature but not melted.
  • Sift the icing sugar before use for any unwanted granules.
  • The consistency should be soft and spreadable.
    -If you find it hard and dry, gradually add few drops of milk and beat again until soft and smooth.
    -If you find it very soft add some more icing sugar to adjust the spreadable consistency.
  • You may store this in fridge for months in an airtight container.
  • For the Vegan and pure white icing use shortening instead of butter and light corn syrup instead of milk.
