Recipe- Instant Mawa using Milk Powder Mawa, also known as khoya. Traditionally mawa is made of full cream milk by boiling and continuously stirring it so that the milk doesn't stick onto the pan and until it turns into a thick paste with lots of soft granules. But this being a time consuming and tedious process, I present below a quick mawa recipe using full cream milk powder.

Instructions
Take 2 cups of full cream milk powder in a microwave safe bowl.
Add 2 tbsp of ghee in it and mix well with rubbing your palms together for 4-5 minutes or until the mixture looks like bread crumbs.
Now add milk in small batches to make a very soft dough (add little more milk if mixture is dry). You may also use this mawa at this stage for the recipes where we use kaccha mawa, like gulab jamun.
Now press the dough using fingers and spread in the bottom of bowl.
Cover and microwave for 1 minute on high power.
Mix with spoon and let it cool down to room temp. before using.
Recipe Notes
- Adjust the time in microwave based on the quantity used, but in the batches of 10-15 seconds. For example, if the quantity is double, increase the time by around 10-15 seconds and if the quantity is half, decrease the time by 10-15 seconds.
