Recipe- Nankhatai/ Butter Cookie (Eggless)
An authentic melt in mouth Indian cookie made up of ghee, sugar and maida.

  1. First of all sieve maida and besan together and keep aside.
  2. Now take ghee in a wide bowl.
  3. Add powdered sugar in ghee.
  4. Beat well with a whisk for few minutes until very smooth in texture (creamy).
  5. Now add sieved maida and besan.
  6. Beat lightly.
  7. Combine it to a dough.
  8. Now Preheat oven at 180°C.
  9. Meanwhile divide the dough into 20 equal sizes balls.
  10. Flatten each ball a bit.
  11. Make a cross on each nankhatai using a knife.
  12. Arrange all on a lightly greased tray (baking tray).
  13. And bake them in a preheated oven for 25-30 minutes at 180°C.
  14. Once them let them cook on a grill.
  15. Once cooled completely. ready to serve. Store them in an airtight container. Enjoy!
Recipe Notes
  • Sieve maida and besan before adding to butter.
  • Just combine all ingredients to make a super soft dough (Do Not Add WATER).
  • Always keep your palm light greased while working with dough.
  • Do not over bake the cookies 25-30 minutes are sufficient, otherwise it may result harden cookies.
  • Always cool them completely on grill.
  • Keep the preheated oven and greased tin ready.
