Recipe- Soya Pulav/ Soyabean Rice

  1. First of all wash and soak rice for 20-30 minutes.
  2. Now heat water in a pan and add 0.5 tsp salt and let it boil. when it starts boiling put soya chunks and let it cook for 5 minutes. Once done drain it and let it cool to handle.
  3. Now chop all vegetables and keep aside.
  4. Now squeeze soya chunks to remove all water. Keep aside.
  5. Now heat ghee/ oil in a pressure cooker and cracker jeera and mustard seeds.
  6. Now add all vegetables and saute.
  7. Add squeezed soya chunks and saute.
  8. Now drain the soaked rice and put rice in pressure cooker. Mix lightly.
  9. Now add paneer, 1 cup of water, salt and crushed black pepper. Close the lid and pressure cook for 1 whistle at high and then 1 whistle at low flame. Then switch off the flame and let it cool down to open.
  10. Once done mix lightly.
  11. Serve hot. Enjoy!
Recipe Notes
  • Adjust spice as per your taste and tolerance.
  • Cook soya chunks in hot water before putting them in rice, otherwise they will be hard.
  • You may add more vegetables as per your choice or availability.
  • You may also garnish rice with some finely chopped coriander leaves.
  • Serve them hot with any curry, daal, chutney, papad or with just curd.
