Instructions
  1. Take maida, sooji, salt, sugar and baking powder in a wide bowl and mix well.
  2. Now add oil and mix nicely.
  3. Now add curd and mix well, then add just sufficient water (in batches) to make a soft doughh.
  4. Now grease the dough and cover the bowl and keep it in warm place for 4-5 hours.
  5. Now check after 4-5 hours. grease your palm with oil and knead dough again to smooth.
  6. Now divide the dough in equal 8 portions.
  7. Now take 1 portion, dust it in dry maida.
  8. And roll it.
  9. Now place 1 tbsp of stuffing in center.
  10. And fold it again and seal properly.
  11. Flatten it with fingers.
  12. Now roll it lengthwise and garnish it with some Kalaunji seeds/ coriander leaves/ finely chopped green chilis/ finely chopped garlic etc.
  13. Flip it over and apply water to make 1 side wet.
  14. Now place in a preheated tawa or gas tandoor or oven (whatever is easily available to you) with wet side down.
  15. And let it cook for another 5-6 minutes (in case of gas tandoor) and then open the tandoor. (If you are cooking on tawa, flip the tawa once it starts bubbling and cook naan until golden brown on direct flame.)
  16. Take it out. brush some ghee or butter, and garnish with some coriander leaves.
  17. Serve hot with sabzi, curry, raita, makhni daal, panner, dum aloo etc. Enjoy!
Stuffing
  1. For stuffing take boiled potato, finely chopped onion, grated panner, finely chopped green chili and salt in a bowl. (You may also add more spices or skip any vegetable you dont like to use.)
  2. Mix well. Keep aside.
Recipe Notes
  • First of all check baking powder, it should not be too old.
  • For better results sift the maida twice with all other dry ingredients well before using.
  • Knead the dough with very light hands until it soft and smooth.
  • You may also add flavors to your bread (mix spices or herbs in maida before starts adding wet ingredients).
  • You may also use sesame seeds, kalonji (Black cumin/ Black onion seeds), fresh coriander leaves, chopped green chilis, finely chopped garlic ets, to top your naan after rolling and before cooking.
  • While cooking make sure your tawa/ oven/ gas tanddor  is preheated on high.
  • For stuffing you may choose the ingredients of your choice and spices as per your taste.
